We’ve always been huge fans of the extrovert BMW X6 full-size SUV but the model wasn’t without its critics when it first appeared. Familiarity has softened its looks and global sales of more than 250,000 vehicles support the fact we were right.
Now BMW has unveiled the updated X6 which launches in December with even more features and convenience. There’s a 40:20:40 split-fold rear seat which boost luggage space by as much as 75-litres to 1,525-litres, the eight-speed Steptronic transmission, an automatic tailgate, bixenon headlights and a leather interior.
Under the bonnet, the updated X6 50i runs the latest-generation 330kW V8 petrol engine, the 30d goes to 330kW for its six-cylinder diesel, while the triple-turbo M50d claims 280kW. The 225kW 35i and 230kW 40d will be added early in 2015.
Full details will come closer to launch and at this stage no official word from BMW Australia on local specs and prices.
