Bugatti Chiron Noire Revealed, Only 20 Units To Be Built

French hypercar builder Bugatti has just revealed an ultra-rare limited edition of their standalone model called the Chiron Noire. Inspired by La Voiture Noire or The Black Car, it was a special Type 57 SC Atlantic created by Jean Bugatti that went missing at the beginning of the Second World War. Some reckon if that car was ever found, it could very well be the most expensive car in existence with some estimating its worth at over 100 million.

In March 2019, Molsheim showed the world what a modern-day interpretation of The Black Car could look like. Only one example was ever produced. But the people wanted more, apparently. So, Bugatti decided to commission a 20-unit production run, hence Chiron Noire.

The company is offering the Chiron Noire in two lines or trims, if you will: Élégance and Sportive. The Élégance’s body is finished in lacquered carbon fibre exposing its weave while most of the exterior trim finished in black. Providing contrast to the otherwise ‘blacked-out’ look is the C-shaped b-pillar called the Signature Line that’s milled from solid metal. It’s the same story inside as well, dominated by black and interrupted by the silk-matte aluminium Inner Signature Line.

The Sportive follows roughly the same recipe as the Élégance, the only exceptions being the exposed carbon body is covered with a matte black finish and virtually every other trim piece from the Signature Line to the quad exhaust tips are finished in matte black. Practically everything in the interior is finished the same way.

In terms of performance, the Chiron Noire, regardless of trim gets the same powertrain found on a standard Chiron which is an 8.0-litre W16 quad-turbocharged monster that produces 1,103kW and an astonishing 1,600Nm of torque.

However, if you’re the sort of person that reckons you need even more ‘edge’ added to your Bugatti Chiron, fret not. The marque will offer the slightly lighter, more track-focused Chiron Sport in Noire trim for an additional 100,000.

Speaking of money, the Chiron Noire will set you back a whooping 3,000,000 or AU$4,870,000 with zero options fitted and excludes all manner of taxes and government charges. For the 20 lucky souls who’ve crossed their cheques for one, deliveries are slated from the second quarter of 2020.
