Another headline-grabbing coupe in Detroit was the all-new Buick Avista.
With Holden turning to North American models as Commodore replacements, as soon as the covers came off the Avista the Aussies were talking ‘Monaro’.
Although revealed as a concept car, the Buick Avista has links to the all-new 2016 LaCrosse sedan and the Cadillac CTS (the latter now being touted as the basis for the all-new Commodore). All share the same rear-drive platform as the Chevrolet Camaro.
As for dimensions, the Buick Avista runs a 2811mm wheelbase making it slightly longer than the Ford Mustang.
Our advice would be to watch this space but don’t expect anything official from Holden about Commodore or Monaro replacements any time soon.
