North American specialist Callaway – best know for the Callaway Corvette models – has launched a modified version of the Chevrolet SS (Commodore SS) in North America.
Included in the modifications is a supercharged version of the 6.2-litre V8 which is good for 425kW/725Nm. As well as the Eaton Roots-style supercharged with liquid-to-air intercooler, Callaway fits increased flow rate fuel injectors, a high-flow intake system and low restriction exhaust system.
Otherwise the Chevrolet (Commodore) SS is largely unchanged as the standard version runs Brembo brakes and the sports-tune suspension system we’re familiar with.
Callaway has a history with Holden – the 200-2002 HSV GTS used LS Series engines produced by Callaway in California.
