A Chrysler 300 with even more ‘attitude’? Yep, that’s the new 300S which joins the local lineup very sharply priced at $47,500.
Power comes from Chrysler’s 210kW/340Nm 3.6-litre V6 Pentastar engine, driving the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
On the outside, the Chrysler 300S gains the high-performance SRT8’s 20-inch gloss black alloy wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tyres, a black chrome front grille, black headlights bezels and a bootlip spoiler.
Inside there’s lots of luxury with high-gloss piano black finish for the centre console, steering wheel and door panels, sports pedals, heated front seats and matt carbon accents (replacing the regular burl wood highlights).
Standard features for the Chrysler 300 include the ‘Uconnect’ 8.4-inch touchscreen system which includes satellite navigation and reversing camera.
We drove a Chrysler 300S fitted with the no-cost optional red leather seats which looked brilliant.
The latest 300 is really firing for Fiat Chrysler Australia with sales running 36 per-cent higher that the model’s benchmark figure set with the first generation model back in 2006.
