Renault, Europe’s best-selling commercial van brand, has boosted the lineup of its handsome Master van with the addition of a new ‘low roof’ model – the L1H1.
With a smaller footprint and lower roofline than other Renault Master vans, the newcomer provides 8m3 cargo space (33 per-cent more capacity than the larger Renault Trafic) and a capacity of 1.6-tonnes.
The Renault Master Low Roof measures 5048mm in length – that means its 500mm shorter and 195mm lower than the larger L2H2 master. Out-back, the 2583mm long, 1765mm wide and 1700mm high cargo area can easily accommodate two full-size 1200x1200 pallets.
Towing capacity is 2.5-tonnes.
Inside, there’s bench seating for three or you can fold-down the centre seat for an extra centre tray workspace.
And with the 111kW/350Nm, 2.3-litre, four-cylinder turbo-diesel driving the front wheels (six-speed manual or automatic transmission), drivers will appreciate the Renault Master Low Roof’s load-bay with its low step-in height…not to mention a small 12-metre turning circle to manage tight city streets (been to the suburbs of Paris lately?).
Running costs? How do service intervals of up to 30,000kms and capped price servicing for the first three services of just $349 sound?
No wonder Renault has been the market leader for vans in Europe for some years now.
