Oh, and they’ve made a 373hp concept 03 too.

2018 Lynk & Co. 03 Cyan Concept

Cyan Racing, the motorsports outfit formerly known as Polestar, has teamed up with fellow Geely-parented sibling Lynk & Co. to announce a surprise entry into the FIA World Touring Car Championship, competing for the first time in something that isn’t related to your wife’s Volvo. The Cyan Racing-Lynk partnership has already come through in the form of the Lynk & Co 03 Cyan, described as a high-performance concept road car, which is already  pushing out a heady 373kW of power already.

“The fusion between Lynk & Co. and Cyan Racing will form the spearhead of our automotive performance debut. The combination of Lynk & Co’s challenge of the auto industry conventions, and Cyan Racing’s vast motorsport & performance experience, are two key elements in this unique cooperation.” — Victor Yang, Vice President (Communications), Zhejiang Geely Holding Group

There’s more to this than just an announcement that they’re going racing, though. Looking through the press-release carefully, it looks like Cyan and Lynk will be working together to develop some high-performance, amazingly-potent road cars too, the way Honda has Type R and Hyundai (now) has N Performance.

Of course, we will see the true product of the Cyan-Link partnership when they go racing in the 2019 season alongside brands like Volkswagen, SEAT, Audi, Hyundai, Alfa Romeo, Honda, and Peugeot. How this will translate to the road is interesting to see, and it’ll be even more interesting to observe how Cyan’s racing efforts will channel revenue back into business for Lynk & Co.
