Detroit Debut For Latest Bentley Continentals

Bentley will unveil its newest Continental models – the GT and GTC V8 – at next month’s Detroit Auto Show.

Under the bonnet is Bentley’s latest 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged petrol engine with 373kW/660Nm on tap. Driving is to all four wheels via a Torsen differential and an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Bentley says the newcomer s will deliver zero to 100km/h in under five seconds, however fuel consumption has been cut by 40 per cent thanks to new technologies like four cylinder deactivation, providing a range between refills of 800kms.

The new V8-powered models are additions to the Bentley Continental range and the sublime W12 engine continues unchanged.

“With the new 4.0-litre V8 engine we are widening the appeal of the latest generation Continentals, introducing a completely new driving experience,” explained Bentley CEO Wolfgang Durheimer.
