Diesel Suzuki Vitaras Recalled For Software Fault

A total of 47 Vitara SUVs have been recalled by Suzuki Australia due to a software fault that could cause a reduction of vehicle power while driving as well as cause it to perform outside of emissions regulation.

The issue, according to recall notice, only concerns diesel-powered Suzuki Vitaras sold between 23rd January 2015 and 25th September 2016.

If a particular unit is effected, the problem may manifest as an Ambient Temperature Sensor Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) failing to illuminate.

So far, there are no injuries or accidents attributed to this software-related defect.

Owners of the effected vehicles will be contacted directly by mail by Suzuki Australia, instructing them to bring it to an authorised Suzuki dealer for closer inspection and reprogramming.
