Dodge seems very happy to be the modern day purveyor of the classic muscle car ethos, releasing the 527kW Hellcat versions of the Charger sedan and already fast Challenger coupe. But they’re not done.
Here we have a video teaser that doesn’t actually show a car but aims to hand us a clear message that this upcoming ‘Demon’ will, for one, have more power than the Hellcat, and secondly is more of a ferocious beast than the current their current muscle car flagship.
“Most cars attempt to be everything to everybody. Then there are the rare few that revel in a single objective, rendering them totally irresistible to a subculture," said Tim Kuniskis, Head of Passenger Car Brands – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT – FCA North America. "The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is conceived, designed and engineered for a subculture of enthusiasts who know that a tenth is a car and a half second is your reputation."
Produced and shot with what seemingly a playbook lifted from a Michael Bay movie, this first video in of an eventual twelve that will gradually show the even more unhinged Dodge Challenger Demon. Whether it will be more sci-fi with some kind of metallic big cat Transformer or actually show car and its development process is anyone’s guess.
Each of these videos will be released one week after the last, and after 3 months of consecutive teasers, the new king of the Challenger will be revealed at the 2017 New York Motor Show. Fans can follow the video series further at www.ifyouknowyouknow.com.
