Ferrari Goes Green With Latest California

Ferrari technology is not all about supercar performance – the latest California HELE boasts exhaust C02 emissions on par or better than many passenger cars.

Ferrari technicians have delivered a 23 per cent reduction in CO2 for the gorgeous California – its 4.3-litre V8 now rated at 270g/km.

The HELE system is a factory-fit option priced at $2,750.

It comprises auto Stop&Start, intelligent engine cooling fan, fuel pump control, electronic air-conditioning compressor and revised gear shift pattern. Typical of Ferrari’s attention to detail, the automatic Start&Stop system, restarts the engine in the California HELE in just 230 milliseconds.

In fact the changes have delivered an extra 25Nm of torque, meaning the Ferrari California HELE is actually more responsive than the standard model.
