Fiat Adds More Variants To 500 Range For 2020

Fiat’s iconic small car will get two more variants added to its range for the 2020 model year. Fiat’s local arm will be adding a new range-topping variant called the Club. At the same time, the former entry-level variant - Pop, has been axed leaving the Lounge as the entry point to the range.

Sadly, the refreshed Australian range will not feature the mild-hybrid version which was announced in Europe earlier this month. Instead, changes to the 500 range amounts to a new range-topping variant and trim. Fiat will be offering the Club and Lounge in both hard and soft top versions, as expected.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer additional features in the new Fiat 500 line-up that deliver a new level of sophistication,” said Guillaume Drelon, Director, Brand & Product Strategy for Fiat. “The Fiat 500 is truly a fun expression of its owner and with new technology and aesthetic refinements, it’s never looked better” he continued.

The entry-level Lounge comes with 15-inch alloy wheels, a 7-inch Uconnect infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch instrument cluster display, tyre pressure monitoring system, Daytime Running Lights with LED headlamps, cruise control with speed limiter, power adjustable heated wing mirrors and chrome window trim.

The range topping Club adds 16-inch alloy wheels, a fixed glass roof with sun blind on the hard-top version (obviously), chrome front grille surround, chrome rear bumper insert, chrome sill plates, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, DAB+ radio and automatic climate control.

The Club is also offered up with two interior options namely: black fabric seats with white inserts and Bordeaux stitching, or white fabric seats with black inserts and white stitching. The company says that leather upholstery can be optioned.

No changes have been made to the powerplant under the bonnet as the 51kW 1.2-litre petrol engine is carried over from the previous car. Sadly, even the Dualogic automatic gearbox made its way back to the range. A stick shifter is offered but only on the hard-top Lounge variant while the soft-top and both Club variants come only in automatic guise.

Finally, the Club is offered in an all-new exterior paint option, Powder Pink. The Fiat 500 and 500C is now on sale through Fiat dealerships across Australia.
