Arriving in Brisbane recently is a 50-strong fleet Mazda’s second-generation CX-5 ahead of their national launch, ending a two-week journey from their port of origin in the land of the rising sun.

The all-new Mazda CX-5 is one of the most anticipated cars of 2017. Only time will tell whether this  sequel version will have as huge an impact as the original did in its transformative influence over the Japanese brand, but early indications look good.

These initial 50 will be allocated to launch activities but ahead of their on-sale date, a total of 1,200 units are expected to be spread across showrooms throughout the country, including the new Touring spec.

Alastair Doak, marketing director for Mazda Australia, said: “Never has Mazda seen such a response from potential buyers wanting information on a new vehicle. Of the almost 100,000 people who have, so far, entered our competition to win a Next-Gen Mazda CX-5, over 33,000 registered their interest in the vehicle, and a staggering 45,000 want to be contacted directly from Mazda once it goes on sale,”

“The Next-Gen Mazda CX-5 is a stunning vehicle and packed with advanced i-ACTIVSENSE safety technology; this forward interest is exciting for everyone at Mazda and across the Dealership network.”
