The Fisker Karma premium luxury EV sedan has been named 2012 Design Of The Year by Automobile magazine.
It’s a double honour for the company’s founder Henrik Fisker whose design for the Aston Martin V8 Vantage took out then same award back in 2007.
Fisker Automobiles is a specialist EV brand based in Anaheim, California.
Announcing the 2012 award, Automobile’s Design Editor, Robert Cumberford, said: “ (The Karma) is a beautiful and highly dramatic automobile, unlike anything else on the road today and yet very much like dozens of the most beloved sports cars of the past.”
Automobile also praised the Fisker Karma for its use of repurposed wood from sunken logs for the interior trim highlights and solar energy receptors in the glass roof.
