Ford Everest Titanium Gets Off-Road Wheel/Tyre Option

Australian buyers looking at a new Ford Everest, specifically in its top-spec Titanium guise, will now be able to choose between wheel and tyre packages depending on their needs. For the first time, the Everest is offered with 18-inch alloys and a more rugged set of off-road capable tyres as a no-cost option.

This, coupled with the suspension changes and recalibrate Driver Assistance systems, forms an Everest that’s more adept than ever at tackling tough terrain. Of course, the standard 20-inch alloys that feature on the Everest Titanium will still be available, but the smaller 18-inchers are inherently more suited to handling more abuse with more separation between sidewall and wheel material.

Ford Australia did not specify which specific tyres will be supplied should a buyer opt for this new wheel pack, but examining the images of the Sunset coloured Everest here show that a set of 265-section 60 series Bridgestone Dueler HT 684 II all-terrains were fitted. A matching full-size spare wheel will also be included in the pack.

“The Everest has been awarded for its off-road capability, and many of our customers have and do take full advantage of this,” said Ford Australia President and CEO, Graeme Whickman. “We’ve responded to this call, and we’re pleased to offer greater choice for Everest customers.”

The Titanium-spec Everest otherwise remains unchanged besides the new wheel and tyre package, though it does appear that it has seen a slight price reduction down to $74,701 (excluding on-road costs).

It’s powered by the same 3.2-litre Duratorq five-cylinder turbodiesel that we’ve become used to, matching that of the Ranger Wildtrak with 143kW and 470Nm. Being the range-topper, goodies such as Autonomous Emergency Braking, Active Park Assist, Tire Pressure Monitoring, and panoramic sunroof come equipped as standard.
