Seems it’s “twice as cool” as previous assumptions.

Ford is still riding the vibes since they announced that the iconic Bronco would be making a return to showroom floors, but now that the car is coming much closer to fruition, we were expecting to see a bit more in the way of details, spyshots, and leaked information. But it seems that the new Bronco remains under a tightly-regulated shroud of secrecy, though happily for us, there are a few dealers who aren’t as tight-lipped as they should be.

It seems that while the media remained in the dark, dealers were invited to a very private preview in Palm Beach, Florida to take a look at an early prototype of the new SUV. In addition to this, Ford detailed plans to introduce more than just the Bronco, saying that it’d be flanked by a family of off-road machines, including a Bronco-based unibody ute.

Phones & smartwatches were confiscated, and bodies were scanned for electromagnetic waves, but what Ford could not keep quiet were the dealers themselves. One told Automotive News that the new Bronco retained a very retro design, with a rectangular grille, inset round headlights, and ‘BRONCO’ branding prominently displayed between. It’ll be available as a 2-door and a 4-door it seems and will feature the sort of body style customisation like removable doors & roof panels that are more commonly associated with its chief rival, the Jeep Wrangler.

Additionally, dealers were also shown the smaller ‘Baby Bronco,’ as well as the electric e-Mustang crossover though neither model was referred to by their production names.

The Bronco was described by one dealer as “twice as cool as [he/she] thought it would be,” and went on to say that it would be “a game changer” for Ford, though what game they intend to change remained unclear. The Baby Bronco is set to precede the full-fat model, with the big one available sometime in late 2020. The unibody ute is set to arrive in 2021, while the e-Mustang should be here relatively soon.
