It’s a ute avalanche at next month’s Australian International Motor Show (Sydney) with both Ford and Mazda staging world premieres of the all-new Ranger and BT50 lineups.
The world launches are a big deal for the local companies – who have some of their top executives flying in – and also for the first annual Australian motor show (which is now alternating each year between Sydney and Melbourne).
Both the Ranger and BT50 are built at the same plant in Thailand and indications point to significant styling changes for the new models.
We’ll need to wait until the products are revealed in Sydney to get the full technical details on each one – especially the engine lineup.
Mazda says the new BT50 will herald a new genre of styling for utes and spy photos doing the rounds in Japan show a much more muscular look.
