Showing the diversity of automotive company safety development, the Holden Colorado crew cab, Hyundai i30 hatchback and Subaru BRZ sports car are the latest vehicles to post the maximum four-star safety rating after the local ANCAP’s single crash test.
Companies like General Motors, Hyundai and Subaru routinely crash hundreds of vehicles each year in their pursuit of maximum safety.
With major fleet operators now demanding a minimum four-star ANCAP rating as part of their purchase criteria, the Holden Colorado joins the locally-produced Commodore and Falcon utes as well as Ford Ranger, Mazda BT50 and Volkswagen Amarok in offering the maximum five-star rating for commercial vehicle buyers.
The result for the i30 is testimony to the massive investment Hyundai has made in quality and vehicle safety in the last decade. Currently the entire Hyundai Australia passenger car range delivers maximum five-star ANCAP safety and the Hyundai iMax people mover and iLoad commercial van are both rated at four stars.
