After the facelifted Holden Colorado pick-up range received the range-topping Z71 variant, it was only a matter of time before a similar model cropped up on the their 7-seater SUV version range, the Trailblazer, seen here receiving familiar cosmetic touches.
It will be available in an initial run of 400 Special Edition units starting in June, and builds on the Trailblazer LTZ’s strengths to include a bolder exterior and better appointed interior. Of course, and as with the Chevrolet-badged equivalent as well as the top-spec Colorado, the theme here is the lavishing of the colour black used as to contrast the primary exterior colour which, in the Trailblazer Z71’s case is Summit White, Absolute Red, Satin Steel Grey, and Mineral Black (a $500 option).
Inside, there’s standard leather upholstery that’s accented by the ‘Z71’ logo embroidered on the head rests as well as floor mats to match.
Sean Poppitt, Holden’s Director of Communications, said: “The Trailblazer Z71 special edition adds stand-out styling to our adventure-ready, family-friendly 4x4 SUV, showing customers they really can have it all,”

- Z71 Head Rest Embroidery
- Z71 Floor Mats
Under the bonnet, the 147kW/500Nm 2.8-litre Duramax four-cylinder turbodiesel is unchanged, as is the 6-speed automatic transmission and its Shift-On-The-Fly 4WD system with limited slip differential.
Also standard on the Z71 are features inherited from the Trailblazer LTZ such as the 8-inch MyLink infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 7 airbags, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, forward collision alert, and rear cross traffic alert.
