Not quite in the HSV league, but Holden’s just-launched Redline Editions are loaded with features for enthusiast drivers.
The Redline model lineup includes the Calais V-Series Sedan, Calais V-Series Sportwagon, SS V-Series Sedan, SS V-Series Sportwagon and SS V- Series Ute. Holden says the Redline goodies add just $2500 to the regular retail price.
Included is some serious high performance engineering, including the FE3 sport suspension set-up (sedan models) with tuned dampers and stiffer anti-roll bars plus 19-inch 10-spoke forged alloy wheels with low-profile rubber and enhanced stopping thanks to four-piston 355mm Brembo front brakes.
Inside is the new Holden-iQ multimedia system with a touch screen, full colour mapping satellite navigation and a rear camera (the camera isn’t fitted to the ute).
No changes under the bonnet with Holden’s beaut 6.0-litre V8 requiring no introduction. The high-performance powerplant is compatible with E85 (bio-ethanol) – the emission-reducing fuel already used in V8 Supercar racing.
