Holden Permanently Lifts Warranty To 5-Years/Unlimited KM

It was starting to reflect poorly on Holden that many of its fiercest competitors were offering warranty periods that eclipsed their own, and after a promotional period of offering extended coverage, the GM brand has finally rolled out a proper 5-year warranty for all their vehicles, regardless of whether the transaction is to private or ABN buyers.

Now that Holden’s previous standard 3-year warranties are behind them, they can now match Ford’s 5-year programme toe to toe, as well as those from Hyundai, Skoda, and Honda, levelling a sharp criticism consumers have had once other automakers were starting to entice with longer and longer warranties. It’s worth mentioning, though, that cars bought for government, fleet, or rental use will have their warranties capped at 200,000km.

In addition to the extended coverage period and unlimited milage (for nearly all buyers), Holden will also be offering guaranteed Roadside Assistance for the duration.

Holden has been on the offensive with their newest vehicle in the line-up, the Chevrolet-based Equinox crossover, and will continue to sing the high riding tune once the larger GMC-sourced Acadia SUV washes up on local shores later this year.

“At Holden, we’re focused on offering the right products in the right segments and providing exceptional customer service,” Holden Chairman and Managing Director Mark Bernhard said. “Holden’s product portfolio is the best line-up and quality we’ve ever had, especially in the key growth segments of SUVs and utes. We’ve always had confidence in our cars and this is putting money where our mouth is.”
