No, it’s not on-sale just yet but Holden has received the first shipment of its all-new Malibu mid-size sedan.
The first batch of Holden’s good-looking newcomer – the replacement for the slow-selling Epica - will be used for engineering development and testing ahead of market launch early next year.
Holden’s engineers will be driving the Malibus on public roads and at the company’s proving grounds at Lang Lang, Victoria to tune the suspension and transmissions not only for local conditions but for other global markets.
The Malibu is a global car for General Motors and will go head-to-head with Toyota’s dominant Camry in the mid-size segment.
“This is a fantastic global car but of course we want to make sure that it goes on sale with plenty of Holden input to ensure it suits Australia’s unique and varied road conditions,” explained Holden’s Ian Butler.
