Holden has announced an update to the Trax crossover for the 2017 model year, with the largest component of the change being the addition of a new mid-level LT spec to join the base LS and higher-end LTZ.
Besides that, there’s some tweaks to the Trax’s exterior that include revised front and rear fascias and LED daytime running lights that’s now standard across the range, which kicks off with the 1.8-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder in combination with a 5-speed manual transmission in the base LS.
Choose an automatic, though, and the engine changes as well to a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol four where previously it was reserved for more expensive variants. In addition, these will also come with 16-inch alloys, reversing camera, cruise control, and rear park assist.
Inside, there’s a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The LT’s mid-tier takeover of the range-topping LTZ’s previous position means it inherits perks such as 18-inch alloys and front fog lamps, but this year it will also be getting a new interior trim material, keyless entry and a sunroof.
With nowhere left to go but up, the range-topping LTZ now features synthetic leather seats, automatic wipers, LED tail lamps, turn signals indicators built into the side mirrors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear-cross traffic alert.
Both the LT and LTZ will have under their bonnet the same 1.4-litre turbocharge petrol engine, paired solely to a six-speed automatic transmission.
