Holden has launched its seven model Cruze hatchback range with pricing identical to equivalent sedan versions – starting at $21,240.
Designed by Holden in Port Melbourne, the Cruze hatch is a global car for General Motors – already on sale as a Chevrolet in South Korea and the UK and destined for sale in 60 countries. Thus the Holden Cruze hatchback joins the locally-designed and developed Ford Ranger ute as being huge global compliment to the talent within the Australian automotive industry.
And the Cruze hatchback comes with impressive credentials for consumers – five-star ANCAP safety rating and the 2.0-litre diesel is the most fuel efficient vehicle made in Australia.
Like the Cruze sedan, the hatchback version is a looker – highlighted by the sculptured rear hatch, low roof and rising beltline. The combination looks sporty and dynamic.
Entry-level CD models run 16-inch steel wheels while CDX, SR and SRi versions gain 17-inch alloys and sport bodykits.
Practicality gets a big tick too with luggage capacity of 413-litres with the 60/40 split-fold rear seat in place or 1254-litres when folded flat.
Specification levels and engines mirror the Holden Cruze sedan lineup.
