Honda Australia has quite a history releasing limited-run editions of its cars, either to commemorate an occasion or just to give value back to its customers. It’s the latter reason this time round, as they’ve just announced the arrival of the Jazz +Sport and CR-V +Sport editions that are up-specced versions of existing models, but command just a small premium over the models they’re based on.
Starting with the Jazz, Honda’s taken a VTi-S that’s already well specced (keyless entry & go, built-in navigation, LED projector headlights) and add to that list niceties like 16-inch gloss-black alloy wheels, a gloss-black number plate garnish, and rear parking sensors (in addition to the standard reversing camera). That’s a total of $1600 additional kit, though the Jazz +Sport could be yours for just $20,590 (plus ORCs), representing a $600 jump over the Jazz VTi-S.
Further, the Jazz +Sport is available in pearl white, pearl orange, metallic red, and crystal-pearl black at no extra cost.
With the CR-V +Sport, it’s much the same story. The pearl & white options are joined by metallic silver and grey, all as no-cost options. Based on the CR-V VTI (2WD), paying the $1900 premium for a CR-V +Sport nets you things like 18-inch alloys, all-round parking sensors, rear privacy glass, a gloss-black grille, and Honda’s Lane Watch blind-spot mitigation system.
These features are added on top of key VTi kit like keyless entry and go, smartphone mirroring, and multi-angle backup camera. The CR-V +Sport retails for $32,490 despite the additional $4100 of kit on board, though Honda’s offering a nationwide driveaway deal of $35,490 for a limited time.
There are no mechanical changes to report here, and so the engine stats remain status quo. The CR-V +Sport finds motivation from a 1.5-litre turbocharged i-VTEC mill, with a healthy 140kW and 240Nm on offer, mated to a CVT automatic transmission sending power to the front wheels. And in the Jazz +Sport, you get the same 1.5-litre NA i-VTEC petrol mill as the rest of the range, so there’s 88kW and 145Nm available to your right foot when needed, with power going to the front wheels via a CVT automatic gearbox.
The Honda CR-V +Sport and Jazz +Sport are available nationwide, but only while stocks last.
