No changes in price, but lots of extra kit – that’s the major news for Hyundai’s facelifted Grandeur lineup.
The new 2011 Grandeur luxury mid-size sedan is still priced at $39,990 for the V6 petrol model and $41,990 for the turbo-diesel.
Externally, there are lots oF detail changes to give the new Grandeur a more up-scale look and an extra 15mmin length.
At the front there’s a new grille, black-bezel headlights, fog lights and a black mesh air dam, while the side profile is enhanced by piano black paint for the B-pillars, new alloy wheels and new exterior mirrors with LED indicator lights and puddle lamps. The rear gets new combination lamps with a modern geometric look and a new bumper.
Inside, the center console gets a contemporary metal look finish and a premium JBL six-stacker CD audio system with eight speakers and MP3, WMA and iPod compatibility.
With either the 3.8-litre V6 (194kW/348Nm) or the 2.2-litre turbo-diesel (114kW/343Nm) – both drive through a five-speed automatic transmission – the Grandeur is a competent and refined mid-to-large-size sedan. Luxury and convenience features are plentiful and safety is top-shelf with eight airbags, ABS anti-lock brakes and Traction Control/Stability Control all standard.
