Underlining the global phenomenon that is Hyundai Motor Company, the Korean manufacturer has overtaken Toyota in the latest Forbes Global 2000 ranking of the world’s most powerful listed companies.
Hyundai climbed eight spots and is now ranked at 188, third among the automotive brands – behind Ford Motor Company (58) and Honda Motor Company (86). Toyota is now ranked at 360.
Of the Korean brands, Samsung Electronics is the highest ranked at 55.
In total, the Global 2000 companies account for $US31 trillion in revenues, $US1.4 trillion in profits, $US124 trillion in assets and $US31 trillion in market value. Those numbers would certainly buy a large number of Hyundai Getz hatchbacks!
