Hyundai has announced a new compact model called the Eon…but don’t expect this one in ‘Oz’ anytime soon.
The Hyundai Eon is powered by 0.8-litre petrol engine delivering 41Kw/76.5Nm and drives through a five-speed manual transmission. With combined cycle fuel consumption of only 4.7l/100kms. Hyundai says the new Eon is the most fuel-efficient car in its segment.
And that segment is the Indian market where Hyundai is the second-largest manufacturer and biggest exporter.
In fact, design and development of the Hyundai Eon was a joint development between teams in Korea and Hyderabad, India.
