Hyundai’s great-looking new mid-size sedan, the i45 is scheduled for local launch in the second quarter of this year.
Car Showroom checked-out the i45 recently – Hyundai showed one to the media at the ix35 SUV launch – and we reckon the aerodynamic styling is first-rate. It’s another example of the styling-lead product offensive from the Hyundai-Kia conglomerate.
Set to replace the Sonata in the company’s local lineup, the i45 will be powered by a new 2.4-litre direct injection petrol engine and features new six-speed automatic and manual transmissions.
No details of the local i45 configuration have been revealed, but we’d be certain of a starting price below $30,000 and you can bet a diesel-powered version won’t be too far away.
Already the world’s fourth best-selling automotive brand, Hyundai is set to sell more than 70,000 vehicles in Australia this year.
