Hyundai Shows Off Veloster N Performance Concept

For those who aren’t in the know, Hyundai’s N division are the company’s in-house tuners who’re responsible for churning out creations such as the i30 N, i30 N Project C hot hatchback (amongst others) and now this Veloster N Performance Concept for the 2019 SEMA show.

As SEMA is one of the world’s most premier automotive tradeshow, it’s no surprise that Hyundai has engineered a concept that utilises a variety of ‘bolt-on-able’ OEM-quality aftermarket parts.

The example seen here for the SEMA show is stuck on with goodies such as coilovers from Extreme Racing coupled with H&R springs, Daewon Steel anti-roll bars front and rear with a multipoint chassis brace.

Furthermore, stopping power is provided by six-piston Alcon callipers squeezing a pair of 380mm rotors up front with four-piston units at the back clamping down on 360mm rotors. A set of Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tyres wrapped around 19-inch OZ forged racing wheels complete the list of unsprung bits added to the show car.

However, the Veloster’s 205kW and 353Nm 2.0-litre turbocharged powerplant seems to have been left alone with only Capristo anodised exhausts tips added. The exterior gets a KWA hood, grille garnish, fog lamp garnish, front splitter, side sills, rear spoiler, rear diffuser, wing mirror covers and an engine cover.

On the inside, much of the interior is blanketed in Alcantara such as the headliner, pillar liners, instrument panel, armrest, door trim, door control bezel, steering wheel lower bezel, parking lever, air vent surrounds, horn pad and gear knob boot. Even the Sabelt carbon sports seats are draped in the material. An aluminium gear shifter, red engine start button and N-branded door sill covers finish off the interior’s makeover.
