Continuing the Detroit Auto Show’s premium two-door theme (Buick and Lexus were on the same theme), Nissan’s premium division Infiniti wheeled-out the all-new Q60 which is slated for local launch later this year.

A close relative of the new Q50 sedan, the handsome Q60 coupe runs a choice of the new VR30 twin-turbo V6 engines (298kW/475Nm or 224kW/400Nm) or a 155kW/350Nm turbo 2.0-litre.

All drive via seven-speed automatic transmission.

Infiniti says the Q60 will be available in rear-drive and all-wheel-drive models.

Plenty of goodies on offer too with Infiniti’s Dynamic Digital Suspension standard on the Sport model (optional on others), active cruise control, blind sport warning, lane departure warning and pedestrian detection just for starters.

We certainly like the looks – like Lexus, Infiniti has muscled-up the styling for its coupe offering.

Inside are some cues to the Q50 sedan but the Q60 delivers a sportier look and again plenty of tech including a 13-speaker Bose audio system.
