Priced from $46,990 ‘Driveaway’ the limited edition Isuzu ‘X-Runner’ D-MAX ute is loaded with extras and is launched to coincide with the company’s Max Run Challenge fuel economy event.
Included in the extras are ‘Silky Pearl white metallic paint, a three-piece hard tonneau cover, black sports bar, tub liner and carpet floor mats. That’s around $4,500 worth of goodies if you ordered them separately.

You’ll need to guess how far an automatic Isuzu D-MAX 4X2 LS Crew Cab Ute will travel on one tank of diesel.
Complication is the ute will be driven by Isuzu rally drivers Bruce Garland and Harry Suzuki who have just returned from the annual Dakar Rally. Car Showroom has ridden in the passenger seat with Bruce in his Isuzu ute rally machine a number of times over the years and the terms ‘Bruce Garland’ and ‘minimized fuel consumption’ just don’t align in our mind – the man is a ‘beast’ who wrings every last kilowatt and newton-metre from everything he drives.
The 2013 Isuzu Max Run and will depart from South east Queensland heading South West for as far as one tank of diesel will last. Given his previous form, Ipswich might be stretching things for Bruce… but he and co-driver Harry Suzuki have promised to amend their style.
