Smallest Jag SUV scores big.
Jaguar Australia is beaming with pride no doubt, as its latest entrant in the SUV space, the E-Pace compact, has been awarded the maximum safety rating by independent safety regulators ANCAP. A full five stars were given in recognition of the baby Jag’s excellent active and passive safety features, underlining the great proposition that the E-Pace is as a small family SUV.
“The Jaguar E-Pace scored well across all assessment areas, and features a ‘pop-up’ bonnet and external airbag to improve head protection for struck pedestrians.” — James Goodwin, CEO, Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP)
The E-Pace scored healthily on its account of standard autonomous emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, and driver-alertness monitoring. Additional kit comes in the form of adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and Matrix LED headlights (with adaptive beam and smart high-beam).
“Safety is one of our core customer principles and so we’re thrilled that the Jaguar E-PACE has been recognised by ANCAP for its five-star safety credentials. The all-new Jaguar E-PACE compact SUV will bring many new customers to the Jaguar brand in Australia, particularly young families, so safety is an absolute priority.” — Matthew Wiesner, Managing Director, Jaguar-Land Rover Australia
The Jaguar E-Pace starts at $47,750 for the entry-level model, rising to $84,370 for the kited-out E-Pace First Edition (excluding on-road costs). You can read more about the Australian-spec E-Pace crossovers here.
