In the latest batch of safety tests conducted by ANCAP, the Jaguar F-Pace - which is now the marque’s most popular model in Australia - was handed a full 5-star score that applies to all variants.
The results do come rather late, though, as the F-Pace had been on sale locally since the middle of last year. That said, their counterparts over at Euro NCAP only published their final verdict on the Jag SUV in October (it also received a full 5-star rating).
Each F-Pace comes equipped with dual frontal, side chest, curtain airbags as standard in addition to a full suite of the most important active safety systems available currently. Naturally, more features are reserved for higher grades, but even the base model comes with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) and lane departure warning.
In more granular terms, the F-Pace received a 93% score for Adult Occupant Protection, earning 35.51 points out of a possible 38, while the Child Occupant Protection sub-score stands at 85%, taking 41.98 points out of a possible 49.
Meanwhile, the tests also deemed the Jag quite a safe car should it come into contact with a pedestrian - at least head-on - scoring a overall ‘Good’ rating from its 33.90 out of 42 points, or an 80%.
ANCAP Chief Executive, James Goodwin, said “High scores were achieved in all physical crash tests and performance assessments. AEB is provided as a standard feature along with forward collision and lane departure warning systems.”
