Undoubtedly one of the best looking of the current crop of ‘baby supercars’, the Alfa Romeo 4C Coupe offered the Alfisti lightweight simplicity paired to an enthusiastic drivetrain that ate up the bends.
Armed with that formula, the Milanese car-maker has since unveiled the 4C Competizione Limited Edition based on the aforementioned Coupe. The marque pulled off the covers for it back in the 2018 Geneva Motor Show.
This new variant will feature lightened bits such the Akrapovic-sourced bi-modal titanium exhausts accented with carbon surrounds while the exposed composite material roof, side air intakes and spoiler complete the featherweight ensemble.
Keeping its 18 and 19-inch alloy wheels shod with viscid Pirelli P-Zero rubbers anchored to the tarmac is the job of a tuned double wishbone setup upfront and an evolved pair of MacPherson rears derived from the company’s racing lineage. They’re a Formula One team these days after all.
Expect the standard 4C affair under the hood. The nimble chassis is propelled forward by the all-aluminum 1.75-litre turbocharged four banger that churns out 177kW at 6000rpm and 350Nm of twist from between 2200 and 4250 revs. The paired six-speed TCT box helps propel the Competizione to a century time of 4.5 seconds with a top speed of 258km/h.
Unfortunately, this Alpine A110 competitor will only see 10 units reach our shores while commanding a hefty sticker price of $119,900 MSRP.
Included additionally in the $30,900 premium over a standard 4C Coupe is the Vesuvio Matte Grey liveried paintjob, an uprated Alpine stereo system and red stitching applied to the semi-hide interior.
