Kia has boosted the Rio hatchback range with the addition of premium ‘SLi’ and racy ‘Sport’ grades.

The Kia Rio Sport replaces the previous SLS grade and is exclusively a three-door model and is listed at $21,490 while the upscale SLi is exclusively a five-door and will set you back $22,990.

Both are powered by Kia’s 103kW/167Nm 1.6-litre GDi engine driving through a six-speed automatic transmission.

Sport models add ‘leatherette’ seat trim with contrasting red stitching and alloy sports pedals.

You can also opt for a Kia Rio Sport with an exclusive ‘Digital Yellow’ exterior paint.

Kia Rio SLi is boosted by leather/cloth trim, climate-control air-conditioning, automatic wipers and rear window privacy glass.

“While the sales profile for Kia is continuing to widen across the model range, Rio remains an integral part of the strategy for continued growth in Australia,” revealed Kia Australia chief Damien Meredith
