Kia will use next week’s Geneva Motor Show to wheel-out GT Line cee’d and pro_cee’d models as well as an all-new three-cylinder turbocharged 1.0-litre petrol engine.

GT Line models further the design we know from the current cee’d GT – the funky ‘ice cube’ LED DRLs and deeper front bumper.

At the rear, both the hatchback and pro_cee’d model score wider bumpers and twin exhausts while the Sportswagon gets a rear diffuser and the twin tailpipes and all run on new 17-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the look resembles the cee’d GT and pro_cee’d GT with grey, white and black seats and the piano black highlights, alloy pedals and leather-wrapped sports steering wheel.

Power comes from the new three-cylinder turbocharged 1.0-litre petrol engine offering 88kW/172Nm – Kia says this is the first of a range of downsized engines heading to Europe.

Drive is through either a six-speed manual transmission or, for 98kW/285Nm 1.6-litre diesel models, a new seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.

The GT Line models are on-sale in Europe later this year and will be manufactured at Kia’s plant in Slovakia.
