Raging Bull Unveils Lamborghini Lambo V12 Gran Turismo In Monte Carlo

For decades Lamborghini has not only been making some of the most outlandish sports cars known to man but also some of the best bedroom wall posters.  Their latest creation is no different. Except for one small detail.

The Lamborghini Lambo V12 Vision Gran Turismo – yes that is its real name – isn’t a real car but rather a concept that was made for the Gran Turismo Sport racing game. The concept was presented at finals of the Gran Turismo Championships e-sport competition held in Monte Carlo.

“Lamborghini is a very young brand, and this is why we are here today to present our newest virtual vision in the form of a real model, with a highly futuristic and cool design to be enjoyed by the young generation of racing game and super sports car enthusiasts” said Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and CEO of Lamborghini.

The single-seater Lambo V12 concept is awash with “sophisticated aerodynamics”. It   also has a large wing housing a significant Y-taillight dominating the rear. The wheels, however, are disconnected from the body. The driver therefore enters the Lambo V12 from the front through a retractable canopy much like a jet fighter.

In its virtual form, the Lambo will employ the Lamboghini Sian’s V12 hybrid powertrain. Its twelve-cylinder engine and electric motor combo gave the Sian a total system output of 602kW. Feeding the electric motor wasn’t just an ordinary lithium-ion battery pack but rather supercapacitors which are claimed to be three times more powerful than a battery of the same weight.

"It is an opportunity for the design talent within Lamborghini to stretch its wings and visualise a car that, like every Lamborghini, is a head-turner and the best driving experience, but also mirrors Lamborghini's push on future technologies, particularly in the arena of lightweight materials and hybridisation” said Mitja Borkert, Head of Lamborghini Centro Stile.

The concept car will be available for gamers to drive in Gran Turismo Sport on PlayStation 4 from the second quarter of 2020.
