Again reinforcing its reputation as a genuine global player for technology, Korean giant Hyundai has announced the addition of ‘Lane Departure Warning Assist’ and ‘Smart Parking Assist’ as standard features for range-topping ‘Premium’ model i40 sedan and wagon.

Like other systems, Hyundai’s self-parking operation uses side-mounted ultrasonic sensors and allows the driver to simply accelerate and brake while it automatically handles the steering to easily and accurately reverse park.

Likewise the i40’s camera-based lane departure warning system provides visual and audible warnings and then steering input to ensure the driver knows he’s straying from his lane.

In other changes, Hyundai i40 ‘Premium’ models gain a 4.2-inch TFT LCD colour Supervision Cluster screen and ten-sensor front/rear parking alerts (eight sensors on ‘Active and ‘Elite’ models).
