Lexus Australia has received the green light for both the V6 RC 350 and V8 RC F Coupes to join the Australian lineup late this year or early 2015.
The entry-level Lexus RC 350 uses a 234kW/380Nm 3.5-litre V6 to drive the rear wheels via an eight-speed sequential automatic transmission while the racy RC F uses a fascinating 5.0-litre V8 which can switch between Atkinson and Otto cycles for enhanced fuel consumption.
Lexus says the RC F will be good for more than 330kW/520Nm and it will use a specially tuned eight-speed Sport Direct Shift (SPDS) transmission.
As well, the RCF runs a wheel/tyre package, high rigidity bodyshell, chassis, suspension and aerodynamic packages appropriate for its blistering performance.
The handsome four-seaters are part of an energised Lexus lineup being rolled-out over coming years.
And for that we can thank the big chief Akio Toyoda.
