Lexus has launched a substantially revised 460 sedan lineup headlined by a new Sports model.
The LS 460 Sports boasts impressive features and looks the business with a nicely-styled bodykit featuring a black weave grille, front spoiler, side mouldings and 20-spoke 19-inch alloy wheels. Inside are sports front seats.
But it's not just looks - the new sporty Lexus borrows from its racy IS F stablemate with an eight-speed sequential transmission with faster shift times, throttle-blipping down changes and steering wheel paddle shifters.
Suspension and brakes and also enhanced with a re-tune for the air suspension and bigger anti-roll bars for a firmer ride and reduced body roll.
For the rest of the LS 460 range, Lexus has debuted numerous changes and four new paint colours.
Externally there is a new front grille, new bumpers and lights. The headlights come with new LED running lights along the base.
Inside there is a redesigned center console and extra chrome finishes plus an ECO mode that reduces the power required to run the air-conditioning system. And the rear seat entertainment system is a new slim-line design that improves rear vision for the driver.
An auto slide function has been added to the drivers' seat for easier access while the rear seat features massagers and new head rests with adjustable side supports.
The audio system now has USB capability to enable use of portable music players like iPods through the touch-screen/navigation system.
'Upgrades across the LS line ensure that it remains the flagship of our range and top of mind with luxury saloon customers, ' revealed Lexus Australia's Chief executive, John Rocca. 'With the introduction of the IS F last year, Lexus has increasingly been asked about sportier versions of its vehicles and LS 460 Sports is an answer to those questions'.
