Lexus have released pictures of a new version of its flagship LC coupe called, rather cutely, the Yellow Edition. However, the images reveal that it’s also called the Limited Edition. Confusing. Nonetheless, and fittingly, the car does receive some bespoke additions that distinguish it from your typical LC 500 or LC 500h.
Of course there’s plenty of said colour to be found both inside and out. The exterior has been given a bright new paint finish called Flare Yellow. They’ve also included the Sport+ equipment spec with this new edition of LC, which adds a Torsen (torque sensing) limited slip rear differential, an active rear spoiler, a lightweight carbon polymer roof, and a set of 21-inch forged alloy wheels.
There’s also Lexus’ Dynamic Handling and Variable Gear Ratio Steering (VGRS) system equipped, which also includes four wheel steering and active suspension for sharper and more versatile handling characteristics.
The car itself is due to premiere at the upcoming Paris Motor Show this October, where attendees can also drink in the matching yellow interior accents done in Alcantara. Colour-matched contrast stitching is also weaved into the white leather 10-way power-adjustable seats, instrument panel surround, steering wheel, and centre console arm rest, meant to further exemplify the brand’s ‘takumi' philosophy to craftsmanship.
There aren’t any speculative prices out yet, but naturally will carry a not insignificant premium over the typical variants if not only for the fact that it comes pre-specified with those various drive-enhancing features.
Also absent from this early announcement are any changes to its two drive configuration, meaning that the LC 500’s naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8 will deliver the same 351kW/540Nm output as before. Meanwhile the LC 500h, with its 3.5-litre V6 hybrid powertrain and 264kW/348Nm also presumably remains constant.
