Ford has announced a limited edition addition to the high-performance FPV lineup – the limited edition GT F. And a refreshed FPV ute – the V8 Pursuit – has also been confirmed.
Only 550 of the individually numbered new Ford FPV GT F will be produced (500 for Australia and 50 for New Zealand). Only 120 of the high-performance V8 Pursuit ute are slated for production.
“Developing this FPV sedan and ute has been a project of passion, a combined effort by many dedicated and passionate Ford engineering staff and suppliers to produce a model that celebrates the FPV brand for our customers and fans,” revealed Ford Australia chief Bob Graziano. “The entire team has worked tirelessly to develop a GT that will forever pay homage to the FPV brand and celebrate its iconic status among enthusiasts.”
The focus for the GT F was to deliver a handling package even better than the GT RSPEC. That means a significant recalibration of the suspension, nine-inch wide wheels with 275/35 R19 Dunlop Maxx Sport rubber and automatically enabled launch control.
Ford FPV GT F runs as standard the previously optional Brembo six-piston front/four-piston rear brakes.
Visually, there are some deliberate styling cues whose origins can be traced back to the legendary Ford GTs from the 1970s. These include a ‘stealth’ stripe design harking back to the blacked-out highlights of Muscle Cars from the glory days.
Inside are richer, darker tones and more lustrous finishes. The high series audio which is usually a premium offering in GT E models is standard in GT F.
The latest Pursuit ute grabs some cues from the GT F sedan.
