Maximum insanity all but guaranteed.
Lister, the UK tuning company that recently dialled a Jaguar F-Type up to eleven in the form of the Lister Thunder, has wasted no time patting itself on the back. Instead, the company has turned its attention to another Jaguar vehicle that it feels is in need of the Lister treatment, and it seems that it’s done rather well, if their communication is any indication.
The company is now looking at the F-Pace SVR, with its powerful 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol mill. This company is clearly obsessed with power, because brand boss Lawrence Whittaker told Autocar that the already powerful SVR can be bumped up to as much as 500kW, about 96kW more than standard (404kW).
*The Lister Thunder. Meow.
While the power figure remains merely speculative at this point, considering they managed to eek out roughly that power figure from the mill that’s fitted to the Lister Thunder (which is the same engine), we’re inclined to believe them. They tweeted a teaser photo of their new SUV with the caption, “the world’s fastest SUV,” suggesting that while the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk makes more power, the lighter, more agile Jag will reap the benefits of modern, innovative construction.
Oh, and if you missed out on a Lister Thunder because all 99 got snapped up in a flash, you’ll be happy to know that the Lister SUV will enjoy a more generous production run of 250 cars.
