A milestone for Audi with the German superbrand taking a brand-new concept car to next month’s Los Angeles Auto Show – the first car to showcase its future styling direction under new Head Of Design Marc Lichte.
As Audi is regarded as one of the benchmark brands for automotive design, 45 year-old Lichte (appointed in February) will not doubt feel the odd trickle of perspiration when his new model goes under the lights in ‘The City Of Angels’.
Audi says its LA concept car marks a new beginning for Audi design for both exteriors and interiors.
Lichte came from Volkswagen where he had been head of exterior design at the Wolfsburg, Germany studios since 2006 and his credits include multiple Golf and Passat models as well as the Touareg and Phaeton (Volkswagen’s beautiful upscale full-size prestige sedan which is mysteriously not sold here).
