Don’t know what Michael Caine and the rest of the stars in the cult movie The Italin Job would make of this – Italy’s version of Scotland Yard, Arma dei Carabinieri, has taken delivery of two high-speed pursuit Lotus Evora S sports cars.
In the original Italian Job Movie, the Carabinieri’s Alra Romeo Giulietas were no match for the gold robbers Mini Cooper S’s but the Lotus Evoras would make things interesting.
Included in the fitout of the Lotus duo are voice recognition technology and a portable refrigeration system so they can be used for rapid delivery of blood supplies to hospitals.
“Everyone knows that Italy has more than its fair share of high profile sports car manufacturers so it’s a real honour for a relatively small brand to be in this position,” enthused Lotus CEO Dany Bahar.
