Lotus has just unwrapped its newest member of the family and it isn’t exactly what you have in mind. Yes, it looks like an Evora and goes like one too, but the similarities end there. The Evora GT 410 has been designed with comfort and day-to-day use in mind rather than blistering lap times.

The GT 410 is based on the GT 410 Sport and sells alongside it. Lotus has kitted out this Evora with heated Sparco sports seats, air-conditioning, cruise control, as well as a premium touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, and a reverse camera, too.

The cabin will also receive more sound insulating material to reduce road noise in the cabin, which further improves refinement - as standard. Additionally, the cabin of the new GT 410 will feature new door trim with integrated arm rests and storage bins, making for a more usable environment for owners who choose to daily their machine.

Furthermore, the GT 410 gets a new rear tailgate featuring a larger glass section for better rear visibility. Other changes include a body-coloured roof, side sills, tailgate, front access panel and mirror backs. Red-painted AP Racing brake calipers are also standard.

Unique to the Evora GT 410 are the new dampers that have been tuned specifically to deliver better driving comfort. The 410 sits on wheels measuring 19-inches up front and 20-inches out back and are shod with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rubbers.

Under the bonnet, the oily bits are pretty much identical to the GT 410 Sport. The oomph comes from a supercharged 3.5-litre V6 making 306kW and 420Nm of twist, mated to six-speed stick shifter with sport ratios, though a six-speed automatic can be optioned. This means the century sprint is dealt with in 4.2 seconds. Which is plenty.

Being the less hardcore variant, the GT 410 costs £3,000 ($AU 5,795) less than the Sport at £82,900 ($AU160,155). It is unclear when exactly the comfier Evora GT 410 will make its Aussie landfall, watch this space for updates.
