Maserati unveiled the GranTurismo sport model at the Geneva Motor Show and the good news for local Maserati fans is the newcomer will be on-sale in Australia by year’s end.
With new style and more technology, the Maserati GranTurismo Sport replaces the current GranTurismo S.
Under the bonnet is Maserati’s 4.7-litre V8 engine delivering a tasty 338kW/520Nm and zero to 100km/h in oh, how about 4.7 seconds (twin dry-plate clutch, six-speed auomatic)? Even the version with the regular ZF six-speed automatic requires just 4.8 seconds to see the triple-digit speed.
Suspension deploys the Sport Skyhook continuous damping control system with ‘Normal’ and ‘Sport’ settings.
Styling sees a new front end with improved airflow and new, LED headlights and DRLs plus the red Maserati ‘trident’ badge (reserved for the most powerful Maserati models). The rear sees new restyled, darker tail-lights and the Brembo brakes score blue calipers.
Inside are new-design front seats with more support and sculptured backs which provide and extra 20mm of legroom for those in the rear. There’s also a new Poltrona Frau leather, new gearshift paddles and a new-design, thicker steering wheel.
