Japanese giants Mazda and Toyota have announced a partnership agreement.
Previously Toyota licensed hybrid technologies to Mazda and Mazda’s plant in Mexico has manufactured small cars for Toyota.
Now, according to a joint statement the two will: “Build a mutually beneficial long term partnership (and) by leveraging the resources of both companies to complement and enhance each other’s products and technologies, the partnership will result in more appealing cars that meet the diverse needs and tastes of customers all over the world.”
Just how that will work is now the work of a joint committee.
Mazda and Toyota say this latest agreement will go beyond the traditional framework of co-operation.
