It says ‘Stealth’ but never mind that.
British supercar marque McLaren have released yet another special-edition of one of its cars, this time fettled by McLaren Special Operations, and inspired by one of McLaren’s racing legends. It’s been officially dubbed the MSO 720S Stealth Theme, and even by McLaren’s own admission, this is anything but stealthy.
The main aesthetic differentiator is the colour, called ‘MSO Defined Sarthe Grey,’ inspired by the 1995 LeMans-winning McLaren F1 GTR, which is then offset by hand-painted accents in Vermillion Red. According to McLaren, the Vermillion Red applied on the front of the car, extended back along the sides to the rear, was hand-painted by master craftspeople at McLaren Special Operations in a near-200-hour process.
The wheels are also given a similar touch, with MSO Bespoke Satin Black applied on the 10-spoke Super Lightweight alloys, before being offset by the outer rim and a single spoke done in Vermillion Red. Further than the wheels are the MSO Bespoke Satin Finish Visual Carbon Fibre components, with the front air intakes, mirror caps & arms, rear aero-bridges, deck, service cover, and air intakes all donning that carbon-fibre finish.
The cabin has also been given a bit of a going over (not that the 720S Performance model on which this car was based needed it). In addition to the standard carbon-fibre trim around the centre panels & Alcantara upholstery, the MSO Stealth also gets red leather for maximum cabin excitement, as well as Apex Red stitching on the dash fascia, door inners, and on the seats themselves.
The McLaren 720S Stealth is yet another example of how McLaren Special Operations will go above and beyond to make your dreams come true, turning your supercar into your dream supercar with no more than a few flicks on your chequebook. Make no mistake, MSO will do anything you ask of them. Just be sure to shell out many a pretty penny for the privilege.
